- Research all resources. What are your competitors doing?
- Speak to your customers. What improvements would they like to see?
- Surveys – gather opinion from other trusted staff members
- Estimate how much time or money can be saved or made
- Forecast the impact of the changes over a 3-year period
- Do your ideas align themselves to the company vision and long-term strategy?
When you have a risk avoider in the team it’s hard to get anything new over the line…
“But we’ve always done it this way!”
“We prefer the tried and tested method.”
“Why fix something when it’s not broken?”

Another set of questions to give some thought to…
What are the good things we do, that we must keep doing?
What are the bad things we do that we must stop doing?
What do we do occasionally that we need to do consistently?
What are the things we don’t do, that we should be doing?
These are inclusive questions that soften the suggestions of change that you might want to make.
